Two people were killed Friday in a head-on crash involving a wrong-way driver on state Route 67 in Lakeside, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported around 3:15 p.m. near Winter Gardens Boulevard, according to the CHP. A 29-year-old Jamul woman driving a silver Ford F150 pickup truck entered the northbound lanes of the highway, heading southbound at approximately 60 mph, the CHP reported. The Ford collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Chevrolet 3500 utility vehicle driven by a 49-year-old man from Alpine, according to the CHP.

A California man was killed in an early morning crash on Interstate 20 in Mitchell County early Thursday morning. The accident happened about 5 miles west of Westbrook. According to the DPS, 79-year-old Robert Beaufort Case of Homeland, California was driving the wrong way in the westbound lane of the interstate when his car was struck head-on by an 18-wheeler traveling west. Case died at the scene. The truck driver was treated and released from Mitchell County Hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says two men were killed when one of them drove the wrong way on an interstate in southern Minnesota. The crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 35 near Albert Lea near the Iowa border. The patrol says 46-year-old Kirt Schmidt of Owatonna was traveling south in the northbound lanes and collided with a car driven by 28-year-old James Winnes, of Albert Lea. Winnes' vehicle was pushed into a semi.

Kenneth Jerger died instantly in the crash on University at 67th Street, according to MCSO. A passenger in his vehicle was hurt. Three people in the moving truck also suffered minor injuries. Sheriff's deputies said they found drug paraphernalia in Jerger's SUV, and that they believe drug use might have played a role.

A man has died after a wrong way driver in Sarasota, Florida plowed into a taxi filled with passengers from Acushnet. James Elias, 51–year-old, was one of four passengers in the taxi. The other passengers, who are also from Acushnet, were taken to a Sarasota Hospital. Two are still receiving treatment at a local hospital. The driver of the car that hit the taxi is facing several charges including a felony for leaving the scene of an accident.

Three people were injured after their vehicles collided head-on in the fourth wrong-way crash in two weeks, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said Sunday. DPS officers said alcohol is likely a factor in the collision on Interstate-17 near New River. DPS said it began receiving calls around 11 p.m. Saturday that a Jeep was traveling the wrong way on I-17. The Jeep slammed head-on into an oncoming pickup truck. The front ends of both vehicles were crunched beyond recognition.

The Washington State Patrol says a wrong-way driver was responsible for a crash early Friday on Interstate 5 near Lacey. The patrol said Michael R. McDonald, 44, of Longbranch was driving a 2013 Hyundai north in the southbound lanes for three miles before hitting Saul Cabreracarillo, 47, of Seattle at the Nisqually Exit 114. Both drivers and a passenger in Cabreracarillo’s car were injured, and the southbound lanes were closed for about three hours. The patrol said the wrong-way driver was booked into the Thurston County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.

Three people are dead and four others in critical condition after a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver and involving a family in a van on southbound Interstate 17 Friday morning, said an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was among three adults injured and flown to John C. Lincoln-North Mountain Hospital in Phoenix, said Raul Garcia of DPS. An injured child was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital, he said. The wrong-way driver has not been named however police said they would recommend vehicular homicide charges to prosecutors.

24-year-old man died in a wrong-way crash on US-301 Monday night. Joshua Odom of Fort Myers was driving northbound in the southbound lanes just north of NE 185th Street around 11:25 p.m. in a silver Nissan Altima, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Trooper D. Komorek reported, Jerry Foust Sr., 60, was traveling southbound on US-301 in a Freightliner CasCadia. Foust noticed that Odom was driving in the wrong direction and tried to avoid from colliding into him by swerving but Odom's car ended up hitting one of Foust's axles.

A driver was hospitalized after a wrong-way crash on I-10, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers. Troopers say 38-year-old Leslie Brenning of Jacksonville was westbound in the eastbound inside lane of I-10 around 2 a.m. Saturday.  The crash report released by the Florida Highway Patrol says Talia Lampley of Tallahassee was eastbound on I-10; the cars collided head-on. Brenning was taken to Shands Gainesville in critical condition.
