One person was injured following a three-vehicle collision on N.C. Highway 42 Monday morning, near Fuquay-Varina. The accident occured on October 27, 2014 when a sedan crossed the double yellow lines at Barber Bridge road and collided with the side of a dump truck; the truck was unable to stop after losing its air brakes and crashed into a pickup truck. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital to treat non life-threatening injuries.

Tiara Lashay Hinton was riding on Highway 64 in a car with three other teens when they collided with another vehicle. Hinton is confirmed dead, but the conditions of the other people involved are not currently known. The crash is still under investigation and more information will be posted once it is known.

Two people were hurt in a three car accident on Interstate 40 East near Poole Road in Raleigh, NC.  The injured were transported to a local hospital.

Michael John Ratty, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday afternoon when a small plane crashed in northern Durham County. The Beechcraft Travel Air 95, which took off on a runway at Falls Lake, crashed around 12:25 p.m. near Bahama. Another unidentified person was injured in the crash and taken to a local hospital.

Two injured in car accident on highway 24 in Clinton, NC.  One driver was transported to a local hospital and the other was flown to UNC Hospitals by helicopter.

Three people were taken to a local hospital after a head-on collision in Durham Wednesday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. A van headed west on Holloway Street crossed the center line and struck an SUV between North Hyde Park Avenue and Calvin Street. The impact then pushed the SUV into a third vehicle. The drivers of the van and the SUV as well as a passenger in the van were receiving treatment for serious injuries.

59-year-old Duane Kyle Robinson was riding his bicycle to work Wednesday morning when he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. A passing motorist spotted Robinson and his bicycle in the road and called the police. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. It was dark and raining at the time of the accident. At this time, no arrests have been made.

The driver at the rear of this five-car pileup is responsible. While the cars in front of her were slowing down, an unidentified 20-year-old woman failed to do so, rear ending one car and causing a domino effect of destruction. Even though all cars were damaged and nine people were injured, no one was seriously hurt.

Laura Lynne Smith, of Raleigh, was diving 74 in a 45 mph zone south on Creedmoor Road when she lost control of her SUV struck a speed limit sign, rolled over, and hit four trees. Her son, Antony Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith's blood-alcohol content was allegedly .32, which is four times more than North Carolina's legal limit.

Pauline Sue Champion, 46, was driving west on Burnside Road in Henderson when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line and hit pedestrians Cornell Hester and Charles Neale. Hester was killed, and Neale sustained a traumatic brain injury. Champion was released on a $75,000 bond.
