At about 10:30pm, Barker was driving the wrong way in the westbound lane of I-182 when he struck two other oncoming cars, one of which contained Miriam Garcia, 30, and the other which contained Sanchez, Martha Zambrano, 49, an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old. Sanchez was critically injured in the collision and died after being taken to the hospital, but no one else was seriously hurt. Just before 10:00pm, a 45-year-old man driving on Highway 20 crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man head-on. Both drivers sustained multiple fractures in the collision, but the 45-year-old man was knocked unconsious and had injuries that were considered life-threatening, while the 18-year-old man was conscious but still in serious condition. A wrong-way driver, not yet identified publicly, crashed with another vehicle and died at the site on Interstate 82 near Granger Monday evening. The Washington State Patrol says a wrong-way driver was responsible for a crash early Friday on Interstate 5 near Lacey. The patrol said Michael R. McDonald, 44, of Longbranch was driving a 2013 Hyundai north in the southbound lanes for three miles before hitting Saul Cabreracarillo, 47, of Seattle at the Nisqually Exit 114. Both drivers and a passenger in Cabreracarillo’s car were injured, and the southbound lanes were closed for about three hours. The patrol said the wrong-way driver was booked into the Thurston County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
