Intoxicants were not suspected of contributing to the crash, troopers said. The cause remained under investigation.

She was identified this morning as Mary A. Nelson, 87, of Richland.
1 Dead, 5 Injured in Head on Crash on I-82 near Zillah
The Washington State Patrol says an elderly woman is dead after driving the wrong way on Interstate 82 and causing a head on crash.
A wrong-way driver, not yet identified publicly, crashed with another vehicle and died at the site on Interstate 82 near Granger Monday evening. All five occupants in the car that was struck and and a third car were taken to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. The extent of their injuries has not been reported. The crash was reported about 6:35 p.m. one mile west of Granger, when the driver of a Volkswagen Beetle was westbound in the eastbound lanes and crashed into an eastbound Toyota Corolla, which then crashed into an eastbound Honda Accord. The driver of the Toyota was Heidi Slinker, 32, of Sunnyside. The driver of the Honda was Griselda Gomez, 35, of Kennewick. Her passengers were Jose M. Muniz, 43; Alexander M. Muniz, 5; and Juan J. Muniz, 3, all of Kennewick. A serious car accident can quickly take over your life.
