Abby Calleja, 40, and Thomas Warren, 24, die in two-vehicle accident on State Road 60 in Indian River County

Two people died in a wrong-way collision on State Road 60 in Indian River County early Saturday morning. The crash occurred on State Road 60 about 12:45 a.m. when Thomas Warren, 24, of Apopka, and Abby Calleja, 40, of Vero Beach, crashed head-on. Calleja's 2013 Jeep Cherokee was traveling in the wrong direction on SR 60 when it struck Warren's 2007 Dodge Charger.

Norman Mello, 42, killed in motorcycle crash with wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 in South Beach, Florida

The family of a man who was killed by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 on Saturday has more questions than answers about what led up to the deadly crash. Norman Mello, 42, was headed south on I-95 on his motorcycle Saturday evening. That’s when Florida Highway Patrol said Varissa Vargas, 20, was driving the wrong way in the express lanes between State Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway) and Highway 112. 

Head-on crash with sugarcane truck injures one on U.S. 441 near Port Mayaca, Florida

One person was hurt after a head-on crash early Wednesday morning near Port Mayaca. At 6:30am rescue crews responded to the 14977 block area of US 441 for reports of a sugarcane truck accident. First-arriving crews found heavy damage to both vehicles, according to Cpt. Albert Borroto with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. A man was taken to Lakeside Medical in Belle Glade for treatment.
