San Diego, CAAt about 6:15pm a woman and her daughter were struck by what has been described as a black minivan, and while the driver initially stopped and even spoke to a witness about calling the police, they fled the scene in the end. Fortunately, both victims suffered only minor injuries, but both were still taken to hospitals.

Tuesday, October 7, 2014A man using a walker was hit by a car likely street racing in Mountain View, California Tuesday night. The victim, a 55-year-old man, was struck while crossing Imperial Avenue around 9:45 p.m. One car, a white Nissan Altima, hit the man and did not stop. The other dark-colored car also sped on. The man was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center after an MTS bus called 911. Police say there were no crosswalks nearby. The man's condition and identity have not yet been released.

San Diego, CAThe driver of a white Budget rental box truck, 30-year-old Ezequiel Cazares Garcia of Oceanside, made a U-turn ahead of Brandon Joseph Bizzaro who was unable to stop and crashed into the truck, and later died from his injuries at the hospital.Garcia fled the scene and returned the truck to the Mission Avenue business where he leased it. Garcia eventually returned to the scene and identified himself as the man who was driving the truck.

San Diego, CAPolice said Tuesday they looking for a Ford Mustang with a broken windshield they believe was involved in the weekend hit-and-run crash that left a 27-year-old woman dead in Ocean Beach.
The victim, identified as Amber Schei, was crossing in the middle of Nimitz Boulevard on a skateboard late Friday or early Saturday when she was struck, San Diego police Detective Dan Wall said. Her body was found by a passerby at 6:05 a.m. in some ice plant, just south of the Interstate 8 on ramp near Robb Field.
Wall said she had been dead for several hours.

San Diego, CAAn apparent hit-and-run victim found lying in front of his San Carlos home Thursday morning has died.
A neighbor spotted the 51-year-old man unconscious on his driveway in the 8000 block of Beaver Lake Drive shortly after 5 a.m., according to San Diego police.
Medics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the late morning, a SDPD public affairs officer said. The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.
Patrol officers called in traffic investigators, who concluded that the man had been hit by a vehicle of unknown type.

San Diego, CAPolice are looking for an SUV that struck and killed an 89-year-old man in San Ysidro Saturday afternoon and then fled the scene.
The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Cottonwood Road, near Beyer Boulevard. According to Officer David Stafford, a San Diego police spokesman, the victim was struck in the street.
He was taken by ambulance to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died. His name was not released. Police initially said the victim was 74, but later corrected his age to 89.

San Diego, CAA suspected drunken driver has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter in the death of a 27-year-old woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Del Mar, authorities said Saturday.
Rachel Anne Morrison and a friend were walking eastbound in a crosswalk at the intersection of Camino Del Mar and Coast Boulevard about 10:15 p.m. Friday when Christopher Stockmeyer, 41, allegedly ran a stop sign and struck her at a high rate of speed, according to sheriff's officials and the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Benjamin Ramirez, 23, struck and killed by hit-and-run driver while walking in Escondido, California

San Diego, CAA 23-year-old man was killed Monday night in a hit-and-run crash just east of Escondido.
The victim, identified as Benjamin Ramirez of Escondido, was walking on Bear Valley Parkway near Boyle Avenue about 10:15 p.m. when he was struck by a white box truck, a California Highway Patrol Officer said.
Witnesses said the driver in the truck slowed down for a moment and then drove away.
Ramirez was taken to Palomar Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:44 p.m., officials with the Medical Examiner’s Office said.

San Diego, CAThe motorcyclist killed in a hit-run accident in North Park early Friday was the prop master for the Old Globe theater, officials there said.
Seamus O’Bryan, 32, who also worked at La Jolla Playhouse, died after the 12:35 a.m. collision.
A passenger on his bike, a 31-year-old man whose name was not released, was hospitalized with several injuries, San Diego police said.
Police had only a vague description of the hit-and-run driver as a male in a white or cream-colored four-door sedan, probably a Cadillac.
