Moon Lake Electric Association crews responded to an 11:30 p.m. report of a power outage when they discovered that it had been caused by a power pole that had been sheared off when a driver went off 5500 East in a rural area just south of Bottle Hollow Reservoir. The car was about 270 feet from the pole. Moon Lake crews called 911 and pulled a 2-year-old boy out of the wrecked car through the sunroof.

Hoskins was driving a pickup truck on I-15 when she slid on a patch of ice, causing the car to spin out and roll of the highway. As Hoskins was not wearing a seat belt, she was killed instantly. Local troopers are urging all drivers to drive slower if there is ice on the road and to always wear a seat belt.

Stringfellow and her passenger were driving on Interstate 15 when she tried to pass a bus by pulling into the right lane and lost control of the vehicle. The car rolled down a steep bank and hit a tree. Neither teen was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Stringfellow was declared dead at the scene and the passenger was flown via helicopter to a hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Friday night at about 8:20pm, a 39-year-old man called police to report that after a rollover crash near the summit of Indian Canyon, his step-son was pinned under the vehicle. The teen remained pinned until rescuers freed him and he was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in stable condition. Neither of the two passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

One motorcyclist managed to avoid the truck, but the other hit it head-on and was thrown from his vehicle before dying. The driver of the truck was flown to Intermountain Medical Center with serious injuries.

I-80 was closed for an hour as wreckage was cleared and helicopters landed to take the girl’s parents to University Hospital in Salt Lake City, where they were reported to be in serious condition. The teen driver, who suffered only minor injuries, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, according to state patrol.

As the car very slowly drifted off of the road, investigators believe that Worthington likely suffered a medical emergency or fell asleep while driving.
