The driver told investigators his vehicle was "barely moving" when he looked down at his phone and drifted off the side of the road, according to Kirby, who said a citation is pending.

Friday night at about 8:20pm, a 39-year-old man called police to report that after a rollover crash near the summit of Indian Canyon, his step-son was pinned under the vehicle. The teen remained pinned until rescuers freed him and he was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in stable condition. Neither of the two passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
