Duchesne man dies in single-car crash

Larry Worthington, 74, was driving a 1999 GMC Jimmy west about 8 p.m. on U.S. 40 near Fruitland when the truck "slowly drifted off the right side of the roadway, where he drove for quite some distance," Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said.

Worthington's heart stopped as the helicopter was preparing to lift off, and medical personnel onboard were unable to revive him, Pierce said. Troopers do not believe alcohol or drug use played a role in the crash.
As the car very slowly drifted off of the road, investigators believe that Worthington likely suffered a medical emergency or fell asleep while driving.
