Pittsburgh police are investigating a crash that sent four high school students to the hospital. It happened at Waterman Avenue and Hopeland in Carrick around 8 a.m. Thursday. We're told the students all suffered minor injuries and were taken to Children's Hospital to be evaluated. The school van driver also went to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the other car, Luke Milliron, had some cuts on his face but is doing okay. "Ears are ringing a little bit, head hurts a little bit. Besides that, I'm alright," Milliron said.

What felt like a "massive earthquake" was actually the impact of a car crashing through the wall of an Orange County home early Wednesday morning just a few feet from a startled family member. The driver, a man in his 20's, was arrrested for suspicion of DUI, according to Costa Mesa Police. "Our room was just filled with dust and debris, and I thought we were having a massive earthquake and the house was falling apart," the homeowner said. The homeowner said he didn't realize a car was involved until neighbors knocked on his door and he walked outside.

A school bus driver was swaying with poor balance and smelling of alcohol when Winona County authorities responded to a crash. The bus, with five children on board, had gone off the wrong side of Fern Valley Road near Altura and crashed into trees. Karl A. Herber, 54, of Rollingstone, Minn., was charged with three counts of drunken driving and child endangerment after registering a .09 blood-alcohol level when tested more than two hours after the crash Tuesday afternoon, the Winona County Chief Deputy.

Two school buses from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System have crashed Monday afternoon in Clarksville, and several students have minor injuries. According to Clarksville police, one bus crashed into the rear of another bus near the intersection of Peachers Mill Road and Tiny Town Road about 2:45 p.m. Police said about a dozen students were injured, and a representative for the school system said all of the injuries are minor. Two students have been transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. School officials are working to inform the parents of those involved.

A 7-year-old Mesa girl was hospitalized with severe head injuries after the all-terrain vehicle she was driving crashed into a block wall Sunday afternoon. Mesa police said the crash happened about 3:40 p.m. in the area of Broadway Road and Longmore. The girl was not wearing a helmet while on the ATV, which was built for a child, said a Mesa Fire Department spokesman said. Officials said the girl was being taught by her father to ride the ATV. The girl was taken to Maricopa Medical Center for treatment and reported in stable condition, according to police.

A sophomore basketball player at Covenant Life School in Gaithersburg was killed Friday after a car that had been involved in a crash careened onto the sidewalk, then hit her and another young girl, police said. Teressa Rosalind French, 16, was only about a block from her school on Muncaster Mill Road when a Chrysler Sebring and a Honda Accord collided, sending the Sebring onto the sidewalk, police said. The car hit French and a 13-year-old, then crashed into a tree, police said.

A man and five children were hurt in a single-vehicle crash Friday on the Far South Side. A 2000 Ford Expedition was travelling west on 103rd Street about 9:50 a.m. when it turned right onto South Cottage Grove Avenue, lost control and hit a light pole, police said. The driver, an 18-year-old man, and four girls–a 6-year-old, a 7-year-old and two 14-year-olds–were taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said. A 3-year-old girl was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, police said.

Oberlin Police and fire responded to an accident involving two school buses at approximately 12:04 p.m. Thursday. Students from Lorain County JVS were being transported back to school from a field trip when the accident occurred. 69 people were on the bus, mostly students. One school bus rear-ended the other bus, causing the accident. The accident happened in front of the Oberlin fire station, making it easy for fire crews to respond.

NOPD says five children sustained minor injuries in a school bus crash in Gentilly. The crash happened before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin and Prentiss avenues when the bus backed into a car, according to police. Five students were being checked out by medical personnel. The rest of the children were placed on another bus and taken to school.

Metro Police are investigating a three-car crash where one of the drivers was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. The driver was taken to University Medical Center where the person died, police said. According to police, the crash happened at Rainbow Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue at around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday. Police stated that they have not ruled out that the incident is related to road rage. They also say that two children were in the car with the victim. Westbound Tropicana Avenue is closed at Rainbow Boulevard while officers investigate the incident.
