Authorities say a six-year-old boy has died after being struck by a school bus Monday morning. Edmond Bock IV was hit shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Aqua Lane in Waterford’s Atco section. According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s office, the bus was stopped to pick up other children when the victim began walking around the front of the vehicle. When the school bus began moving again, it fatally struck the first grader. An investigation is underway to determine if there was anything criminal in the child’s death.

A head-on crash near Auburn sent three people, including a 4-year-old girl, to the hospital with critical injuries. A Ford Explorer and a minivan collided on Military Road South. The 4-year-old girl in the SUV and both people inside the minivan were taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The man driving the Ford Explorer was not injured.

A woman and child were injured early Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash south of Oak Harbor. Both were taken to Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville. The driver, 48, is under investigation for vehicular assault. Troopers believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The Coupeville woman was driving a 2007 GMC pickup truck southbound on Zylstra Road at Hastie Lake Road when it crossed the centerline and struck a tree. Her passenger - a 9-year-old child is from Lake Stevens.

A tire blowout is believed to have caused a rollover crash that seriously injured five members of a family, including three children, on Interstate 10 in Phoenix on Thursday morning. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the family's vehicle was going west when the blowout occurred, sending the vehicle through the median and into eastbound traffic. The crash happened near 31st Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Two adults were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center with serious injuries, Garcia said. The three children were taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital.

A mother has been charged with driving under the influence after her two young children were killed in a car crash, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Troopers said Melissa Patton, 32, is charged with two counts of felony driving under the influence and driving under suspension. According to troopers, Patton was driving a car at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday on Wells Highway when the car traveled off the road, hit a church sign and overturned.

A 4-year-old child died after he was run over on a private driveway in Buras on Wednesday, authorities said. The preliminary investigation revealed that Hai Hoang Thanh Huynh, 32, of Buras, was backing out of his driveway at 125 Circle St. when he struck his son, identified as Vincent Huynh. The man attempted to drive his son to a hospital but was stopped by a Plaquemines Parish sheriff’s deputy for speeding. During the stop, the deputy discovered that the child had died. Speed and impairment are not suspected as factors of the accident, authorities said.

Fremont police reopened a major intersection nearly six hours after a vehicle killed a woman and injured two others on Tuesday evening. Officers responded to a report of an injury vehicle collision at Paseo Padre Parkway and Mowry Avenue around 9:55 p.m., police said. A 19-year-old woman, who was holding a 3-month-old boy, and 17-year-old girl were walking west across Paseo Padre Parkway when they were struck by a vehicle south past Mowry Avenue, according to police. The driver was a 64-year-old man who cooperated with officers, according to police.

A man accused of driving under the influence was arrested after crashing into a pole in Stockton’s Seaport District. Andrew Lopez, 23, was arrested for DUI, child endangerment and other traffic-related charges after he crashed while racing with another vehicle, according to Stockton police. He was driving with two juveniles in the area of Sonora and Lincoln Street at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the pole.

North Carolina Highway Patrol says an infant was one of three people who died because of a vehicle crash in Bertie County Friday night. Two adults and a baby were traveling west on State Road 1001 near Colerain when their vehicle strayed to the right of the road, struck a ditch and crashed into a tree. Troopers say the vehicle caught fire, and 48-year-old Willie Lee Perry, 52-year-old Phyllis Perry, and 1-year-old Madison Perry passed away. Highway Patrol said the three shared the same home address, but it is not clear the exact relationship between them.

An 18-wheeler hit and killed a little boy as he rode a dirt bike his parents gave him for Christmas. Seven-year-old Tristan Mericle died after a tractor-trailer struck him Tuesday evening. Troopers and say the seven-year-old was riding a dirt bike in his front yard and drove onto Highway 97, right into the path of the big rig, as he tried to turn the bike around.
