The Wickliffe Police Department responded to a reported car accident Sunday morning at the Shell gas station. Upon arrival, police found 34-year-old Benjamin Scholes at the scene of the accident. Scholes admitting to losing control of his vehicle on a patch of ice. Scholes' blood alcohol content was a .189. He was arrested and charged with OVI failure to control. He was released after posting a $3,500 bond. Police say the canopy of the gas station and gas pump received extensive damage from the crash.

A Denver patrol car was hit by another car triggering a 10-car chain-reaction collision on eastbound 6th Avenue near Federal Boulevard early Saturday morning, according to police. The parked patrol car was struck after it responded to an accident that happened around 7 a.m., said Denver police spokesman. The police officer was not in the car at the time and was not harmed. No serious injuries have been reported in any of the accidents. Jackson said that immediately after the officer's patrol car was hit, another car hit the second vehicle and kept on going.

The Minnesota State Patrol is identifying the four people killed Friday near Sleepy Eye on icy roads. It happened on Highway 14 in Brown County just after 8 p.m. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix was headed westbound on Highway 14, going into a curve heading southbound, when it lost control and entered into the opposite lane of traffic. It was hit broadside by a 1999 Dodge Ram headed northbound into the curve.

Eight children and one adult were injured when a Megabus and a day care van collided Wednesday morning on Chicago's south side. Another 28 people declined medical treatment after the 7:30 a.m. crash on Interstate 90/94 -- the Dan Ryan Expressway -- near 51st Street, according to officials from the Chicago Fire Department and the Illinois State Police. Three were taken to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, three were taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and two were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, said a fire department spokesman. All the injuries were minor, he said.

Three people, including an Indiana State Police trooper, were injured when a pickup lost control on a snow-covered I-65 in northwest Indiana Tuesday morning and struck a squad car stopped for another accident. The crash happened about 10 a.m. Monday on I-65 just south of the U.S. 30 exit in Merrillville, a statement from ISP said. Master Trooper Aaron Segrest, 53, was sitting in his unmarked squad car on the side of the northbound lanes when it was hit.

A 51-year-old Chelmsford, Mass., woman suffered serious injuries when she rolled her snowmobile on Highland Lake in Washington, officials said. Joan Dillon lost control while making a turn on the ice Saturday afternoon, New Hampshire Fish and Game officials said. An ambulance took Dillon to Concord Hospital, where her injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening. Investigators said Dillon's inexperience on the snowmobile was the main cause of her crash.

Two cars were totaled but no one was hurt after a school bus apparently lost control on icy roads in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning. The bus was carrying 29 students from Jenny Lind Elementary School at the time of the accident. According to a witness on the scene, the bus was going down a hill on Dowling Avenue North near Sixth Street North when it slid into two cars. The two cars involved were totaled and the front arm of the bus was sheared off, our photographer says, but no one was hurt. The students were put on a different bus and taken to school.

Crashes caused by freezing rain and icy road conditions closed lanes on Interstate 84 west of Pendleton on Monday morning. One of the crashes involved a FedEx trailer that split open at 6 a.m., spilling freight and blocking eastbound traffic, according to Oregon State Police. A commercial truck traveling behind the FedEx trailer also crashed. Neither driver was injured. The left eastbound lane is now open for traffic while workers continue to pick up debris and clear the scene.

Conservation officers say a southern Indiana woman is recovering after being rescued from her pickup truck that became stalled in flood waters. The truck had stalled in high water just outside Crothersville. Hilton was treated for hypothermia but was otherwise uninjured.

A missing snowmobiler was found dead after he apparently crashed on an ice-covered lake in Walworth County over the weekend. Searchers were called to Lake Delavan around 8 a.m. Sunday to look for the 51-year-old man who had been missing about 12 hours. Investigators said the man's family found his snowmobile out on the frozen lake Sunday morning and called police.
