It was approximately 4:30 p.m. when 51-year-old Jeffrey Tuggle was driving a pickup truck on Frankfort-Ford Road when he veered off of the roadway and crashed into some trees. His passenger, identified as Marlene B. Chaffin, 56, was ejected from the truck and then crushed beneath it. After some good Samaritans helped lift the truck off of her, she was rushed to the hospital by helicopter but eventually died. Tuggle was arrested for driving under the influence and currently remains in jail. He could face more charges.

A car containing two people was stopped on the train tracks at Fox Road for an unknown reason, and was struck by a  westbound train at about 9:45 p.m. The collision ejected the driver, Timothy Jones of Vacaville, from the car, and he was declared deceased at the scene. An 18-year-old passenger, Nathan Gates of Dixon, was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to the hospital with significant injuries. No one else was hurt in the accident. We will add more information about this accident as it is released.

Investigators say that a Ford Escape driven by a 23-year-old Alma woman was westbound on Cutler Road east of Amble Road when she lost control, left the roadway, and the SUV rolled on Saturday night. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV during the crash, and when the vehicle came to rest in an upright position, the woman's arm was trapped under one of the tires. A 24-year-old passenger, who was not injured in the crash, was able to drive the SUV off of the driver's arm, after which she was brought to the hospital. Alcohol may have been a factor.

Friday night at about 8:20pm, a 39-year-old man called police to report that after a rollover crash near the summit of Indian Canyon, his step-son was pinned under the vehicle. The teen remained pinned until rescuers freed him and he was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in stable condition. Neither of the two passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

A 6-year-old West Finley boy was killed Wednesday night when he was ejected from a Jeep on Interstate 70 in Buffalo Township, police said. Dominic Rush was a passenger in a Jeep that lost control just east of the Taylorstown exit in Washington County at approximately 7:30 p.m., police said. The driver lost control, left the passing lane and traveled 342 feet in the median before the car rolled over on its roof. Dominic was ejected and pinned under the Jeep. Witnesses lifted the Jeep and removed the boy, police said. The driver was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital by a helicopter.

One person is dead and another is injured after their vehicle crashed and overturned late Tuesday. According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 2000 block of Brock Road in Paint Township, at about 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, on the report of a crash. Deputies said, when they arrived on scene, they found a 2006 Ford F-Series pickup truck overturned in a streamline near the roadway.

Five people have been injured, three seriously, in a rollover crash on I-95 near the Lantana Road exit, said a spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. Rescue crews responding to the 10:17 a.m. crash found that several people had been ejected from their vehicles. An initial report indicated that one person may had been ejected onto the Tri-Rail tracks, causing the rail service to be temporarily suspended. No one was found lying on the tracks, and a short time later Tri-Rail service was resumed.

Two people were killed and three others were taken to the hospital after a horrific car crash in San Bernardino on Sunday. The accident happened in the 3500 block of Ridgeline Drive around 1 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire said. Three people were ejected from the car and two others were trapped inside after it went 150 yards down the side of a hill and ended up in a ravine, San Bernardino County Fire said. A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters found the other man who was ejected. He was immediately rescued and transported to the hospital.
