Lashawnna G. Taylor, 33, was spotted by police driving on Copley Road in Akron. She sped away, blowing through several stop signs and red lights, and police eventually called off the chase. A second officer attempted to pull Taylor over a short time later, and again Taylor fled, this time crashing into a snow bank on West Wilbeth Road near 26th Street S.W., causing her SUV to flip. Five children were in the car, including a 2-year-old who was ejected. The children range in age from 2 to 11 years old.

A 1-year-old is in critical condition and two others non-critical after a car accident at Shelby Drive and Tchulahoma Road in Memphis. None of the children had proper restraints, and all three were taken to the hospital. The driver of the SUV containing the children, identified as Bomesia McFadden, now faces charges of child abuse, driving without a license, and aggravated assault.

Robert Johnson, 24, drove into a large signal truck at a construction site at Interstate 10 westbound at Interstate 610, around 9:40 p.m. on Oct. 15. The accident injured the driver of the signal truck and a 3-year-old child who was a passenger in Johnson's car and was not in a carseat. Both were transported to Interim LSU Hospital with injuries.

A 20-year-old West Palm Beach man is facing criminal charges after police say he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a parked car, injuring his child who was in the front unrestrained. Amonzo Shelton was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Sunday and released under supervision Monday, jail records show. He faces charges of driving with a suspended license, reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, and child neglect. Riviera Beach police were called around 12:15 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of West First Street in response to a traffic crash.
