Jimmy A. Holland, 54, killed and Bobby Stark injured in head-on wrong-way crash on Arkansas Highway 25 near Heber Springs

Jimmy A. Holland of Edgemont was driving north on Arkansas Highway 25 around 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle traveling south, driven by Bobby Stark of Searcy swerved into oncoming traffic. Stark's vehicle struck the left front of Holland's vehicle, killing Holland. Stark was brought to the hospital in Heber Springs; his condition is unknown at this time. 

 

Shameeka Patterson, 37, killed while Mike Hamrick, Barbara Jones, Claude Roberts, and Bobby Ray Williams all hospitalized after fiery crash on an icy bridge of Highway 64 near Wynne, AR

At about 5:30am, Patterson lost control of her vehicle on an icy bridge of Highway 64 and collided with a pickup truck, then a concrete barrier, where her vehicle caught fire. A semi-truck then tried to avoid the wreck but ended up hitting the pickup truck and swinging into oncoming traffic, hitting two more vehicles. Patterson was killed, and everyone else involved except for the driver of the semi truck, David Tidd, was hospitalized. Check back for more details as the investigation of this accident continues.

Barbara Barnett, 77, dies three days after head-on car crash in Jonesboro, Arkansas

Barbara Bennett and her husband, 81-year-old Verlan Barnett, were driving near the Marion Berry Parkway Interserction when they were struck head on by a driver who crossed the centerline. At the time, Bennett did not appear to have life threatening injuries but was taken to a local hospital for treatment along with the others involved in the crash. Three days later she died of her injuries. No one else in the accident was seriously hurt.

Jeff Durand Smith, 49, was killed, while another driver injured in head-on 3 car accident on State Highway 7 near Bismarck, AR

Arkansas State Police say a Hot Springs man was killed in a head-on collision involving three cars on State Highway 7 near Bismarck. A state police report says 49-year-old Jeff Durand Smith was killed in the three-vehicle collision on Friday. The report says Smith was southbound when a northbound vehicle went over the centerline of the highway and collided with the vehicle Smith was driving and another southbound vehicle.

Dorothy S. Jones, 74, killed and Tony Carter and Sharon Gilbert injured in head-on accident on Highway 67 in Pocahontas, Arkansas

A head-on crash in Randolph County left one dead and two injured. The crash happened south of Pocahontas on Highway 67 near Tenco Road just after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Dorothy S. Jones, 74, of Maynard died as a result of the crash.    

Jimmy Vernon, 48, killed and David Satterwhite injured in head-on collision in Izard County, AR

While Vernon was declared dead at the scene of the crash, Satterwhite was taken to White River Medical for treatment of injuries.

Kenneth Collins Jr, 40, and Matthew Rutherford, 33, dead and 1 airlifted to hospital following 2-vehicle crash in Lake City, Arkansas

According to police, Kenneth Collins Jr ,40, and Matthew Rutherford, 33, were killed in last night's crash. Rutherford was traveling east on Highway 18 in a pickup truck when he crossed the center line and struck a Jeep heading west in the far right lane.The truck struck the vehicle head on. Rutherford was declared dead at the scene, Collins later died of his injuries. The passenger in one of the cars was airlifted to a hospital in LIttle Rock with a broken shoulder and head injury.
