The crash happened at the intersection of Highways 18 and 135 around 8:45 pm Saturday according to Lake City Police Chief Winfred Saffell.Two people died at the scene. A third passenger was flown to a Little Rock hospital. Their condition is unknown Sunday morning.

According to police, Kenneth Collins Jr ,40, and Matthew Rutherford, 33, were killed in last night's crash. Rutherford was traveling east on Highway 18 in a pickup truck when he crossed the center line and struck a Jeep heading west in the far right lane.The truck struck the vehicle head on. Rutherford was declared dead at the scene, Collins later died of his injuries. The passenger in one of the cars was airlifted to a hospital in LIttle Rock with a broken shoulder and head injury.
