Saturday, April 25, 2015Rudy Aponte, 48, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in a crash that happened around 11:20 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Northwest 32nd Avenue and Northwest 46th Street in Miami-Dade County. Aponte, who had cerebral palsy, was crossing the street but was moving slowly because of his condition when a small dark-colored vehicle struck him and fled the scene. Aponte was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saturday, December 20, 2014The 15-year-old victim of a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Saturday night has been identified as Chiar Raymond of Boynton Beach. Raymond was walking home after attending an event at Boynton Beach High School when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Boynton police are attempting to find for the vehicle, described as a red or maroon Mercedes, possibly a four-door sedan, with damage to the passenger's side mirror and front bumper. Police said a car heading northbound at 2000 block of High Ridge Road hit the teen, who was walking north alongside the roadway, about 11:15 p.m.
