A 55-year-old man from Peachtree City was killed in a wreck in Coweta County on Saturday night.
Michael Allen Naber was driving southbound on Fischer Road around 9:55 p.m. when a northbound vehicle driven by Robert Charles Diaz entered his path and there was a collision, the Georgia State Patrol said. Naber died at the scene.
Diaz, 34, of Sharpsburg, was transported to Atlanta Medical Center. There was no immediate word on his condition.
The investigation into the crash is continuing and the report has not been completed, the GSP said.
Gwinnett County Police are on the scene of a multi-vehicle accident, involving a motorcycle.
The accident happened at the intersection of Winder Highway and Sweet Gum Road in Lawrenceville around noon.
Gwinnett Police say " a passenger car crossed the center line and hit an oncoming motorcycle." A truck following behind the car swerved to avid the accident and left the roadway and flipped over.
All passengers and the driver of the truck were transported to a local medical center. The driver of the motorcycle was also transported to a local hospital.
A bride-to-be was killed and her fiance was injured Monday night in an accident in Meriwether County.
It happened around 7:15 p.m. on I-85 at mile marker 33.
John Redman, 23, of Dalton, was driving a Lexus southbound when he lost control of the vehicle, traveled into the median and hit a bridge abutment.
The passenger in the vehicle, Brittany Marie Huber, 25, of Mobile, AL, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Redman was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.
The couple was on their way to Mobile where they were to be married on Saturday.
A 24-year-old woman faces charges after police say she was driving a vehicle that hit and killed a man on Interstate 285 in Atlanta.
Police say a man was walking in the emergency lane of the interstate around 4:45 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by a vehicle. Police say Tabatha Williams was the driver of the vehicle.
Williams faces charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, DUI and reckless driving. She was being held in the Fulton County jail and it wasn't immediately clear whether she had a lawyer.
A passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Authorities say an Alabama truck driver who was walking alongside a central Georgia road was killed after two vehicles collided in the street, and one of the vehicles struck him.
The original accident on Saturday afternoon was a relatively minor one. The Bibb County Coroner said no one inside the vehicles was hurt.
Jones identified the Alabama man as 43-year-old Kenneth Alan Craig of Montgomery.
Police have identified a woman killed when her car collided with a train in Henry County as 52-year-old Connie Gauthier.
Georgia State Patrol officials said Gauthier died Friday afternoon, after they said she drove her Mercury Cougar into the path of an oncoming Norfolk Southern train.
Authorities said the accident happened around 1:15 p.m. Friday off Georgia 42 north of Canup Road, which is just north of the Butts County line.
