According to authorities, the accident happened on Georgia Highway 7 near Grove Street around 1 a.m. Officials say the accident happened when two men who were crossing the four-lane highway were struck by a Barnesville Police patrol car. The victims have been identified as Justin Sullivan, 25, and Quentin Byrd, 21. Both men are from Barnesville. The officer, Terry Belvin, was transported to a local medical center where he is being treated for injures.
