An elderly man struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in Hillsboro early Monday morning. According to officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ronald Arndt, 80, was hit on northbound Route B near Marshak Way at 6:10 a.m. Arndt was reportedly laying in the road at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are searching for a suspect who is believed to be driving a maroon late 1990s Ford Ranger pickup truck with lower passenger-side damage.
Thomas E. Collins was killed and as many as three others were injured during a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 435 in southern Kansas City overnight.
The pileup occurred about midnight Tuesday along southbound I-435 near Bannister Road.
Witnesses told police that a driver who was speeding and weaving in an out of traffic caused the crash, according to media reports.
All lanes of southbound I-435 were closed for nearly three hours while authorities investigated.
A suspect wanted on traffic charges crashed following a police chase Monday morning, killing one person and injuring two others in another vehicle.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. near the western city limits of Independence on 23rd Street. Police pursued the driver to the city limits.
The car crashed into another vehicle at 23rd and Hardesty after running a red light, killing Jason Lewis in the other car. Two others riding in the car that was struck were injured.
The suspect, Andrew Stark, fled the scene on foot and was arrested shortly after.
Police have identified a man who died in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 55 in south St. Louis County Monday afternoon.
According to Missouri State troopers, 68-year-old Ronald Aboussie was driving on the southbound I-55 ramp onto I-255 when he lost control and drove down an embankment.
Authorities responded and pronounced Aboussie dead at the scene.
The cause of the wreck was unknown.
Police say a 23-year-old man found trapped inside a car after it crashed in St. Louis has died. But authorities say the wreck may have had nothing to do with his death.
Authorities were called to the 1200 block of N. Euclid around 4:30 p.m. Saturday and found a Ford Escape flipped on its top. The driver, Christopher Doss, was trapped inside.
Doss was taken out of the vehicle and transported to a hospital, where staff discovered he had been shot in the head. He was later pronounced dead.
Both directions of Highway 364 were shut down after several accidents were reported over a 15-minute period along the Page corridor in Maryland Heights on Friday.

Kansas City police on Wednesday identified a 59-year-old Lee’s Summit man who died in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday as Walter Roher.
The wreck happened just before 11 a.m. a half-mile east of Noland Road when Roher’s pickup truck veered off the right side of the road and slammed into a rocky bluff. Police were still trying to determine Wednesday why he left the road and whether he was wearing his seatbelt. He didn’t appear to have hit the brake before the crash, police said.
One person was killed in a wreck involving a semi truck on Interstate 44 in south St. Louis Monday.
The incident happened on the interstate near the Jefferson exit around 11 a.m.
Authorities confirm one person died, but did not say which vehicle they were in.
All lanes of eastbound I-44 were closed from Grand to Jefferson as crews worked to glean up the scene.
The cause of the wreck was unknown.
The accident happened as negative temperatues kept many roads still in bad condition a day after the St. Louis area got about 10 inches of snow.
A series of wrecks caused a traffic nightmare for those heading into St. Charles County Friday morning.
The wrecks happened on westbound Interstate 70 at Interstate 270 around 6:15 a.m.
One of the vehicles involved in a wreck appeared to have hit a Missouri Highway Patrol car when being moved off the road. The patrol car sustained minor damage.
Another other car landed on its roof and settled in a ditch off the interstate.

Liberty Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
It happened Friday just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Mill St., and Main St.
The pedestrian, identified as 60-year-old Madeline Garman, of Blue Springs, Mo., was taken to Liberty Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
