A suspected DUI hit-and-run crash left an off-duty police officer hurt overnight and at least three people in custody.

A car full of four men heading down Haverford blew through a red light at the corner of 57th Street in West Philadelphia and collided with a car driven by an off-duty officer around 2 a.m., according to Philadelphia Police.

The officer suffered injuries to his leg and back and is expected to be OK, according to police.

One person was killed during a fiery crash between a tractor-trailer and a car in Northampton County Monday morning.

The accident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 78 in Glendon, Pa.

According to investigators, at least one person was killed after a ShopRite tractor-trailer and a car collided. Authorities say the car was trapped underneath the tractor-trailer and a fire started as a result of the crash.

It was not immediately known if the deceased was in the tractor-trailer of car.

Police believe icy roads are to blame for a fatal crash that killed a woman Monday morning on Route 28.

The driver lost control in the northbound lanes in Harrison Township, between exits 15 and 16. Northbound traffic was detoured for much of the morning, but the road has since reopened.

Police say the driver of a City of Pittsburgh truck stopped to help a young woman who slid on ice around 8 a.m.

As the truck driver was on the phone with police to report the accident, another driver lost control and started to spin, crashing into his truck.

One person was killed after a crash involving a pick-up truck and a charter bus in Bucks County early Monday morning. The deadly accident happened at about 5 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 309 at Pumping Station Road in Quakertown. According to investigators, the pick-up truck rear-ended the charter bus. The driver of the pick-up truck was killed. The identity of the driver was not released. It was not immediately known if there were any passengers aboard the charter bus. The deadly crash remains under investigation.

Family and friends will gather tonight to remember a popular college freshman who died when he was struck while walking along a busy road outside of Philadelphia. Dante Desimone died after being struck by a car after it collided with another car along the 500 block of W Baltimore Pike in Clifton Heights, Pa. around 9 p.m. Sunday. The Upper Darby High School grad and two friends were walking on the sidewalk when the car went onto the sidewalk after being struck by another car.

A woman was killed and a man was critically injured Saturday evening in a crash in Lawrence County near the Pennsylvania-Ohio state line, police said. The accident occurred at the intersection of West Poland Road and State Line Road in North Beaver Township. Authorities said a man driving north ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle, pushing it into a house. A female passenger in the second vehicle died at the scene, police said. She has not been identified yet. The man driving the second vehicle was flown to a hospital in Youngstown. The crash remains under investigation.

A 2-year-old girl died in a traffic accident Thursday evening in Franklin County after the vehicle she was riding in was hit by another vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign, state police said. Investigators said the girl, who was not identified, was restrained in her car seat, but the car seat was not properly affixed to the car. The accident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. along the Wingerton Road, near the intersection with State Line Road in Antrim Township, police said.

A Pine Grove woman was killed Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Washington Township, according to state police. Mary Reed, 81, was the front seat passenger in a Subaru Legacy that hit a large patch of ice and crashed into a tree. Reed was not wearing a seat belt, state police said. Bonnie Neal, 61, was the driver of the vehicle, and Annie Reed, 41, was a rear passenger behind the driver’s seat. Both women, who were not wearing their seat belts, suffered moderate, unknown injuries and were airlifted to Hershey Medical Center for treatment, state police said.

One lane of the Parkway West reopened six hours after a tractor-trailer driver was killed in a rollover crash Monday morning. The medical examiner was called to a crash that closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 376 in Moon Township. The accident happened at 9:42 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 376 between the Montour Run onramp and the Moon Exit. State police said the driver of a GMC Terrain lost control in the right lane and struck the passenger side of a tractor-trailer in the center lane.

McDonald Borough police are investigating a single-car crash that left a driver dead. Officers were called out at about 10:38 a.m. today after a passing motorist saw a car in a creek near Plum Run Avenue and Langeloth Road, police said. The driver, Phillip S. Wolanski, was dead when police arrived. Mr. Wolanski was 43 and lived in Washington, Pa.
