A 2-year-old girl died in a traffic accident Thursday evening in Franklin County after the vehicle she was riding in was hit by another vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign, state police said.
A 2-year-old girl died in a traffic accident Thursday evening in Franklin County after the vehicle she was riding in was hit by another vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign, state police said.
Investigators said the girl, who was not identified, was restrained in her car seat, but the car seat was not properly affixed to the car.
The accident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. along the Wingerton Road, near the intersection with State Line Road in Antrim Township, police said.
Troopers said Randy Barnhart, Jr., 29 of Hagerstown, Maryland failed to stop at a stop sign along Wingerton Road and hit the other car.
State police said Barnhart was charged with running the stop sign. No charges were filed against the driver of the girl's vehicle.
