Woman dies in Route 28 crash.

Car hits City of Pittsburgh truck in Harrison Township.

Route 28 accident victim identified.

An Arnold woman died Monday morning in a Route 28 northbound crash in Harrison.

Woman killed in crash that closed Route 28 identified.

Pennsylvania State Police closed a section of Route 28 northbound in Harrison this morning while they investigated a fatal crash involving a Pittsburgh Public Works car and other vehicles.

Police believe icy roads are to blame for a fatal crash that killed a woman Monday morning on Route 28.

The driver lost control in the northbound lanes in Harrison Township, between exits 15 and 16. Northbound traffic was detoured for much of the morning, but the road has since reopened.

Police say the driver of a City of Pittsburgh truck stopped to help a young woman who slid on ice around 8 a.m.

As the truck driver was on the phone with police to report the accident, another driver lost control and started to spin, crashing into his truck.

"The witnesses say she lost control basically where we are standing," a state police trooper said. "She's already sideways when she entered the curb, and the roadway evidence supports that that she was already out of control prior to impact."

The woman, identified as Roxanne Taylor, 38, of Arnold, was killed in the crash. The other drivers were not hurt.

Witnesses say the city truck driver was heading to Sarver, Butler County, to pick up materials to patch potholes when he saw the first crash.
