A traffic accident on East Meighan Boulevard claimed the life of a Gadsden man this afternoon. A motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Carl Waldrop was traveling east, when it collided with a Lexus SUV on the passenger side. The SUV was coming off Litchfield Avenue attempting to turn onto Meighan.

Joshua R. James was riding his motorcycle on Kimzey Road when he lost control of his vehicle on a sloping curve. He was taken to a local hospital, and his motorcycle sustained major damage. James was charged with a DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle.

A 35-year-old Maurepas man died Thursday evening (Sept. 24) when his motorcycle crashed on Highway 22 east of Highway 16 in Livingston Parish, Louisiana State Police said. Authorities said Irvin W. Lachney was traveling "at a high rate of speed" on his 2000 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control of the motorcycle around 6:45 p.m. Lachney was wearing a helmet at the time, police said. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, police said, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the truck driver told them he did not see the motorcycle. Egbert said the driver was seriously shaken by the incident. Witnesses said the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed.

A 53-year-old motorcyclist was transported in critical condition on Saturday, after a crash in Tulsa County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol say the crash happened at 5 p.m., on Coyote Trail at the intersection of Campbell Creek Road. Vandygriff was transported with head and internal injuries.

44-year-old Paul J. Boes was flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. According to investigators, Boes was driving too fast for conditions and was not wearing a helmet.

Two men were seriously hurt Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle they were riding struck a curb in north Fargo and flipped in the air. The crash happened about 2 p.m. in the 2100 block of 10th Street North. The motorcycle then flipped, and both men were thrown to the ground.

Officials say when Kendall Nicholson came upon stopped traffic he laid down his motorcycle, sliding under a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. Nicholson was wearing a helmet but speed was a contributing factor. The bike caught fire, though officials say the fire did not contribute to his death. Witnesses say Kendall Nicholson, 17, was weaving in and out of traffic just before the fatal crash.
