A 19-year-old Queens man was killed in a crash on the Grand Central Parkway in Kew Gardens late Thursday night, police say.

The driver was going westbound in the middle lane of the parkway behind another vehicle near Union Turnpike and tried to change lanes, according to police. As he did so, he rear-ended the car in front of him, which caused him to lose control, hit a metal guardrail and overturn onto the roadway.

The victim, identified as Andy Ramdhanie of Hollis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say an off-duty New York City police officer has been killed in a motor cycle accident in Queens. It occurred on Linden Boulevard and 158th Street around 5 p.m. Monday. Police say Officer Curtis Johnson was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a Chrysler Concorde making a left turn. The 28-year-old officer was thrown from his bike, which then struck a Nissan Altima traveling on Linden Boulevard. Johnson was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He worked at the 103rd Precinct in Queens and had been on the force for two years.

A 50-year-old Yonkers man was killed in a fiery automobile crash on the Grand Central Parkway, New York City police said Wednesday. Police identified the man killed as Dale Tulloch of Yonkers. Tulloch was a passenger in the back seat of a sports utility vehicle when it erupted into flames, police said.

A man strolling down the sidewalk on a tree-lined block of Fresh Meadows, Queens was critically injured Monday morning when he was struck by a pickup truck that jumped a curb, cops said.

Vic Nicastro Highway officers investigate a fatal accident on the northbound Clearview Expressway in Bayside.
A 51-year-old Queens woman was killed Friday when her car slammed into the back of a tow truck parked on the shoulder of the Clearview Expressway, officials said.

Ingrid Arcuik, was driving a 2007 Dodge north on the Clearview Expressway near 58th Ave. in Bayside at about 12:30 p.m., when her car veered to the right and struck a Peterbilt tow truck, officials said. She died at the scene.

A 40-year-old cyclist died after being run over by a Mercedes Benz van in Queens Sunday night, police say. The cyclist was riding west on Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park at about 9:30 p.m. when he sideswiped the passenger side of the black van, which was also traveled west on Rockaway Boulevard. The contact knocked the bicyclist to the ground, and the van ran him over, police say. Authorities say the van driver stopped and got out of the vehicle, then returned to the van and drove off without notifying police.

Two men were injured in a motorcycle accident in Queens on Tuesday night cops said. In Astoria, two men in their 20s on the same bike were hit by a 2003 Infiniti near the intersection of 28th Ave. and 34th St. at 7:15 p.m., cops said. The victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical and serious condition but were expected to survive their injuries, cops said. The driver of the car stayed on the scene and was arrested for not having a Breathalyzer device attached in the vehicle as required after a previous arrest, cops said.

A 28-year-old woman was charged with manslaughter Monday - hours after she crashed her Infiniti sedan in Queens, killing the 29-year-old man sitting next to her, cops said. Sharlene Numa, of Roosevelt, Long Island, was traveling east on the Belt Parkway when she sideswiped a 2012 Mercedes and careened into a tree in Rosedale around 4:15 a.m., cops said. Her passenger went into cardiac arrest and died at 4:50 a.m. at Jamaica Hospital, cops said. Release of his identity was pending family notification. Numa was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, cops said.

Hours after four young people were killed in a deadly Queens crash, a second car carrying a group of friends swerved off a nearby road and also plunged into the water — but in this case, all escaped with their lives. The accident happened Saturday at around 4 a.m. on 20th Avenue and Shore Boulevard — just a mile from the fatal accident that killed the foursome of childhood friends. As the five pals reached the edge of 20th Avenue, the driver lost control of the 2010 Toyota — which hit a metal fence and overturned into the East River, sources said.

A car heading down a dark, dead-end street in a desolate industrial area flipped over a wooden curb into a creek, killing four passengers, police said Saturday.

The driver escaped serious injury and told officers at the scene in the Astoria section of Queens that the four were trapped in the submerged car.

Police said the 2009 Honda Accord tumbled into Steinway Creek, a trash-strewn inlet off the East River, just after 10:30 p.m. Friday.
