The pickup truck on Utopia Parkway in Fresh Meadows, Queens swerved to avoid another car, jumped the curb and struck a man in his 60s on the sidewalk before smashing into a parked car.

A man strolling down the sidewalk on a tree-lined block of Fresh Meadows, Queens was critically injured Monday morning when he was struck by a pickup truck that jumped a curb, cops said.
According to police, the 2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup was traveling south in the right lane on Utopia Parkway when a vehicle cut in front of it around 5:40 a.m. The pickup then veered to the right, mounted the sidewalk and struck the man before crashing into a 2007 Toyota RAV4 parked in a driveway near Peck Ave.
Ridgeline pickup swerved to avoid another car, jumped the curb and struck a man on the sidewalk, leaving him in critical condition.
The man, who is in his 60s, wasn’t immediately identified. He was taken to Booth Memorial Hospital in critical condition, cops said.
