A woman sustained minor injuries to her head and neck when, just after 12 p.m. Sunday, her 4-door Saturn veered off of I-80 in an area near the Bonneville Salt Flats and rolled. Passersby were able to push the car back onto it's wheels before emergency crews arrived. The 33-year-old driver, a Washington Terrace resident, was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident. Investigators are working to determine if alcohol or a medical episode played a role in the crash.

The man who was driving the motorcycle only sustained minor injuries and was taken to the University of Utah Hospital via ambulance. The woman was airlifted to the same hospital with facial lacerations but is expected to be okay.

I-80 was closed for an hour as wreckage was cleared and helicopters landed to take the girl’s parents to University Hospital in Salt Lake City, where they were reported to be in serious condition. The teen driver, who suffered only minor injuries, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, according to state patrol.

Two Taylorsville men died from injuries sustained in an early Monday morning crash on Interstate 80 near the Salt Lake-Tooele county line.

The Utah Highway Patrol identified the victims as Spencer W. Gardner, 28, and Andrew J. Harrie, 30.

About 3:30 a.m. Monday, Gardner was driving his black 2006 Scion eastbound when he drifted off the freeway and rolled about 10 miles west of Salt Lake City.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, but troopers were considering the possibility that Gardner fell asleep at the wheel.

A woman is in critical condition from a rollover accident around 3:00 a.m. Thursday near Tooele. The accident happened at milepost 64, which is 40 miles west of the Tooele Exit. Utah Highway Patrol Troopers say the woman was driving westbound on I-80 when her car went off the road. The woman over corrected and the car rolled over. She was pinned beneath the vehicle. A medical helicopter was sent to the scene. Utah Highway Patrol says no lanes in the area are blocked at this time.

An autopsy has determined the identity of a man killed in a horrendous auto-pedestrian accident on Interstate 80 near the Utah-Nevada border earlier this week.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the State Medical Examiner’s Office had determined the victim of the early Monday morning accident was 20-year-old Christian Gutierrez, of Wendover.

Why Gutierrez was walking in or near the westbound lanes of I-80 about 1 mile east of Wendover remained unknown, however.

Utah Highway Patrol identified the body of a man killed on I-80 near Wendover.

Officers say 20-year-old Christian Gutierrez was run over several times.

Troopers say they found his body in the road after responding to a call around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Police are still trying to figure out why he was on the road to begin with.

A man died in an auto-pedestrian accident in Tooele Monday morning.

Tooele police Capt. Paul Wimmer said 41-year-old man was walking along the shoulder near Highway 112 and Industrial Loop Road about 7 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a car.

Wimmer said witnesses told officers that the man had been walking on or along the white line, dangerously close to the travel lanes, just prior to being hit.

He was dead at the scene, Wimmer said.

A 10-year-old boy was flown to the hospital Saturday after he crashed a motorcycle at Miller Motorsports Park.

The boy was going off a jump in the motocross area when he crashed, said North Tooele County Fire District spokesman Ryan Willden. Firefighters were called to the Tooele park, at 2901 Sheep Lane, about 6:51 p.m.

They tended to the boy until a helicopter arrived to take him to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. Willden did not know the extent of the boy’s injuries or where he lives.

An explosion of hot gas at a Tooele County plant sent two workers to the hospital with serious injuries early Friday morning. The workers were taken to Inter-mountain Burn Center in Salt Lake City after the accident at US Magnesium's Rowley plant on the Great Salt Lake's west shore, 60 miles west of Salt Lake City. A spokesman for Tooele County Emergency Management stated that a supervisor in his 40s and an employee in his 30s suffered "thermal burns" to their upper torsos. The cause of the 4:45 a.m. accident is under investigation.
