A driver is accused of smuggling undocumented immigrants through Utah, four of whom died last week when their van rolled off Interstate 70 last week in Grand County. Elvis J. Quintanilla-Vasquez, 36, was driving seven men to Chicago to work for a family member there when the van crashed May 16 about 34 miles west of the Colorado state line, investigators wrote in charges filed in Utah. Four of the men were flung from the van and died.

A woman is in critical condition from a rollover accident around 3:00 a.m. Thursday near Tooele. The accident happened at milepost 64, which is 40 miles west of the Tooele Exit. Utah Highway Patrol Troopers say the woman was driving westbound on I-80 when her car went off the road. The woman over corrected and the car rolled over. She was pinned beneath the vehicle. A medical helicopter was sent to the scene. Utah Highway Patrol says no lanes in the area are blocked at this time.

One person was killed and a half dozen others were injured when the driver of a pickup truck ran a red light in Draper and crashed with other vehicles at about 6:30 p.m. after the pickup truck driver, who was traveling at high speed on Lone Peak Parkway, crossed into the intersection at 12300 South. The truck struck one vehicle, which started a chain reaction that caused five other cars to be hit. The driver of one of the cars was killed at the scene and a minor in that vehicle suffered critical injuries. Four other people received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A 19-year-old Brigham City man — who may have fallen asleep at the wheel — died early Friday morning when his pickup truck rolled on Interstate 15 near Brigham City.

Mitchell Burton died at about 3:30 a.m. when his northbound truck drifted into the left emergency lane and onto a rumble strip, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

Burton then over-corrected and the truck traveled back across the freeway to the right shoulder, where it rolled once, hitting a sign post.

A three-vehicle collision in Millville on Thursday evening sent one person to the hospital and prompted an investigation into whether one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol.

The Cache County Sheriff's issued a news statement Friday, saying the driver of a pickup truck traveling eastbound on 200 South in Millville was driving erratically when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a passenger vehicle near 140 W. 200 South around 7:30 p.m.

A 71-year-old woman was in serious condition Friday after she was struck by a pickup truck on a Riverton sidewalk. A Unified Police Lt. said the woman sustained head injuries when a 33-year-old man driving a Chevrolet pickup hit her about 7 a.m. Friday at 13279 S. 2700 West. Hoyal said the driver was just pulling out of a daycare center, where he had dropped off his child, and did not see the woman walking near the entrance in time to avoid hitting her. The woman was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray by Unified Fire Authority paramedics.

A Clinton man was killed when his pickup truck, possibly speeding in wind-whipped snow, collided head-on with a semi-trailer rig on Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir in Wasatch County. The Utah Highway Patrol said that in appears that 51-year-old Craig L. Batchelor attempted to pass a slow-moving, eastbound SUV by crossing over a double-yellow, no-passing line about 7 p.m. Monday.

Two bicyclists are dead after they were hit by a pickup truck in Lehi.

Police say the crash happened about 6 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Redwood Road and 2100 North.

Authorities say the driver apparently didn't see the two men as they were trying to make a turn.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

One person was killed and four others injured in a weather-related head-on crash Tuesday morning in Spanish Fork Canyon. Killed was 34-year-old Clinton Lee Logan, of Springville, Utah. At about 8 a.m., Logan was driving westbound on US Highway 6, about six miles west of Soldiers Summit, when his Honda Civic was struck by an eastbound Infinity carrying two adults and two children, the Utah Highway Patrol reported. The driver of the Infinity was attempting to pass a semi truck when snow and slush on the roadway obscured the driver’s vision, the UHP said.

The Utah Highway Patrol says a roll over crash happened on Interstate-15 near Parowan Friday afternoon. A southbound vehicle blew a rear tire and it rolled off the highway. The vehicle came to rest on it's side. The 36-year-old male driver was uninjured in the crash, but his wife was pinned in the Ford Expedition and she had to be freed by the fire department. The woman sustained some moderate injuries in the crash, according to a UHP press release. Three children were also in the car and they were treated and released from a local hospital in Cedar City.
