Old Sharpton Road was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared, Hale said.

Police are investigating if alcohol use was a factor in the crash.

 

At 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a car driving by Seth Edwards, 17, of Laurel, lost control on a curve in Old Sharptown Road near Williams Road and struck a utility pole. A passenger in the car, Erica Colbourne, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene. Edwards was not injured. Two other teenagers in the car, a 16-year-old from Salisbury, Maryland, and a 15-year-old from Laurel, were transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. A 16-year-old girl from Seaford was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The accident is under investigation, and charges are expected.

So sad we trust teens and lookwhat they got them self into!!!!

Why are 15, 16 and 17 year olds out cruising at 430 in the morning?  Parents have to be more vigilant, I never trusted my kids because I knew what I had done at that age - check on them, parents!
