Boaz 'icon' in intensive care at Huntsville Hospital after being struck by car

A woman that Boaz police officers call an "icon" of the city is in intensive care at Huntsville Hospital after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night. The Sand Mountain Reporter reports that Dawn Crosson was struck by a vehicle just after 6 p.m. on Highway 168 near downtown Boaz. "She walked everywhere and had a smile and wave for everyone," Farish told the paper. Boaz Police Chief Scott Farish told the newspaper that Crosson is a kind, loving resident of the city. Crosson is well-known around Boaz, where she often walks around downtown wearing a nightgown.
