One killed, one injured in Pike County crash

The driver, Robert Demond Carlton, 25, of Troy, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and injured. The crash occurred on Pike County 7708 six miles northeast of Troy. Barr, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate. According to a news release from Trooper Jamie L. Maloy of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Marquez Barr, 17, of Brundidge was killed when the 1995 Ford Explorer in which he was a passenger left the roadway and overturned at 11:40 p.m.
