3 people injured by bees, two taken to hospital, after a two car crash in La Canada Flintridge, sends one car into a tree, disturbing a bee hive.

At least three people were stung by a swarm of bees following a traffic accident in La Canada Flintridge Sunday. Two of the three victims were hospitalized.

The incident occured following a two-vehicle accident on the 2000 block of Los Amigos Street around 2:45 p.m.

Police say one of the cars involved in the collision hit a tree. That's when the a limb on the tree broke, and hit a bee hive.

Both drivers were stung. Police say one of the victims was stung 50 times, and the other possibly up to 500 times. Both were rushed to Verdugo Hills Hospital.

A sheriff's deputy was also stung, but he was not seriously hurt or transported to a hospital.

Firefighters sprayed foam to remove the fallen hive and handle the bees.
