It is believed the planes are owned by Growers Air Service.

Whether the planes were carrying chemicals used to treat field crops is unknown.

Crop-duster pilot killed in crash ID’d as Rio Oso man, 25

Cowan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 7:45 a.m. near County Roads 13 and 99E, near the town of Zamora. The pilot of the second plane landed in a nearby field and escaped with unspecified injuries, according to Yolo County sheriff’s officials.
