Allegedly Drunk Hayward Man Tries to Flee From Fatal Crash Site

Butler attempted to run away from the accident site but was nabbed by Hayward police a few blocks away. A Hayward man, who was involved in a fatal car crash early Saturday morning, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter for driving drunk, police said. Police said a 20-year-old female driver, whose car was also occupied by an 18-year-old man, had stopped on northbound Hesperian for a red signal. The female driver, also of Hayward, was treated for minor injuries and released, police said. Dave Go, 18, of Hayward, was riding in the passenger seat and was killed, according to the Alameda County coroner's office. HAYWARD -- A young man was killed early Saturday morning in a traffic collision when an alleged drunken driver rear-ended a car stopped at a red light in Hayward, police said. He was found by officers a few blocks from the crash and determined to be intoxicated, police said. Butler was booked at the Hayward jail on suspicion of felony drunken driving, hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter. Paul Butler, 28, was arrested after police said he ran from the crash.

i wanted to give my condolences to Dave Go's family.  I just stopped at memorial site of the accident and the tribute to him is beautiful.  Humanity has lost a beautiful human being.  I pray for you to have peace during this difficult time.
