Ginger Underwood, 67, killed in crash with gravel truck on Interstate 70 in Golden on August 12.

A driver who crossed from westbound to eastbound Interstate 70 was killed when their vehicle hit a truck, according to Lakewood Police Department Spokesperson Steve Davis. She was driving a tan Lexus when she collided with the gravel-hauler truck. The driver -- identified as 67-year-old Ginger Underwood of Wheat Ridge -- was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital, and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The wreck happened just after 10 a.m. near the Denver West exit. Police say they don't have any reason to believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident. They are awaiting toxicology results.
