Janice Pielert, 58, run over and killed in Stamford, Connecticut

Stamford police have arrested Natalie Gainer, a woman accused of crashing into Janice Pielert. She is reported as having made a left turn off Summer Street when she hit Pielert as she was walking in the crosswalk. Pielert was taken to Stamford Hospital where she died, police said. Gainer was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to grant right of way to pedestrians in a crosswalk and obstructed view.
