A Micanopy man was killed and a woman passenger was critically injured Saturday night in a motorcycle accident in Levy County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Both he and Ramsden were ejected as the motorcycle slid on the pavement before coming to rest in the northbound lane. Neither the driver nor Ramsden had been wearing helmets, the highway patrol said.

Douglas R. Foster was traveling north on State Road 24 on a motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle and it fell on its left side. Foster and his passenger, Linda Ramsden, were thrown from the vehicle. They were both taken to UF Health Shands Hospital. Foster was pronounced dead, and Ramsden was listed in critical condition.
