Motorcyclist killed in overnight crash on Colonial Drive(link is external)

Novella was attempting to make a left turn into Carr's path when the collision happened. Carr was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

An Orlando man died early Sunday after his motorcycle collided with a car in east Orange County.

The motorcyclist was identified by the Florida Highway Patrol as 25-year-old Robert Carr.

According to FHP, Carr was driving westbound on Colonial Drive near Forsyth Road at about 3 a.m. That's when a van driven by 26-year-old Harold Novella of Orlando hit the side of Carr's motorcycle.

Novella was attempting to make a left turn into Carr's path when the collision happened. Carr was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

FHP said they have not located any witnesses and have not determined which driver had the right of way.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call FHP at 407-737-2213.
