Chemical spill closes US 19 in Pinellas

The fluid has leaked across the northbound lanes of US 19 and the fire department has contained the spill. Pinellas County, Florida -- The northbound lanes of US 10 are closed at Hammock Pine Boulevard following an accident involving spilled weed killer. The northbound lanes of US 19 are still closed at this time and traffic is being diverted at SR 580. Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, a Scott's Lawn Service Truck collided with the center median barrier wall. The collision ruptured the tank that was carrying weed killer.
