However, because the Yaris driver was "traveling too fast" on a wet roadway, the 18-year-old reportedly lost control of the Yaris. The car rotated and traveled across the roadway until it hit a Publix semi-truck.

Two people were seriously injured in a crash on I-275 in St. Petersburg on Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

he Toyota Yaris was northbound on the I-375 entrance ramp about 5:52 a.m. when the driver, an 18-year-old man, lost control and hit the truck’s trailer while merging onto I-275, the FHP said. The driver and his passenger, 28, both of St. Petersburg, suffered serious injuries.
