Motorcyclist Rafael Barboza, 54, killed in 4-vehicle crash on Howard Frankland Bridge in Tampa, Florida
Motorcyclist killed in crash on Howard Frankland Bridge Sunday
Florida Highway Patrol says three of the vehicles were stopped on I-275 for an earlier crash ahead of the stopped traffic around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. FHP says the driver of the motorcycle failed to stop for the traffic and collided into the rear of two of the vehicles, which propelled one vehicle into the rear of a fourth vehicle.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
