Woman in critical condition after tree falls on car

DeKalb fire officials said she was freed from her car and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

A rotten pine tree toppled onto the woman’s Honda Civic hatchback near S. Indian Creek Drive and Sioux Way early Friday. And she died just after being removed from the car and transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Authorities say 69-year-old Catherine Nero was trapped inside her Honda CRV on South Indian Creek Road and Sioux Way after a rotted pine tree landed on the roof of her car.
