Cobb dispatchers received a call about the crash, between Perkerson Mill and Clay roads, about 5:30 a.m.

According to investigators, Michael Hallman, 48, of Austell, was in the roadway when a white Ford F150 heading northbound on Austell Road struck him. The truck’s driver had attempted to avoid hitting Hallman but was unsuccessful, said Officer Alicia Chilton, spokesperson for Cobb Police.
