Handicapped van leaves roadway, injures two on I-20

A MARTA handicapped van crashed on I-20 in DeKalb County late Monday morning, injuring the driver and a passenger.

The MARTA Mobility van was eastbound on I-20 past Flat Shoals Road around 10:30 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, a MARTA spokesman stated.

The driver was ejected from the van, and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, along with the sole passenger on board.

The conditions of the driver and passenger were not immediately available.

All eastbound lanes except for the HOV lane were blocked for about an hour while authorities investigated and cleared the wreck.
