Douglasville teen dead three injured in Bill Arp Road wreck

Joshua Murphy, 16, of Douglasville, died in the 6:21 p.m. crash near Ga. Hwy. 166, said Georgia Department of Public Safety spokesperson Tracey Watson. The driver of the other vehicle, Darien Whitfield, 17, of Winston, and two passengers were injured and transported to two Atlanta hospitals. Watson said the initial indication was that Murphy's 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound on Hwy. 5 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and was struck on the passenger side by a southbound, 2003 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Whitfield.Whitfield was injured and taken to Atlanta Medical Center. His two passengers, Reginald Benson and Pierre St. Brice, of Winston, were both injured and taken to Grady Hospital.

Teen killed in Douglas County accident

The 2003 silver Malibu was driven by Darien Whitfield, 17, of Winston. The Douglas County Schools superintendent told CBS46 they are providing support through the Crisis Intervention Team to Chapel Hill High School. Around 6:21 p.m., a gold 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound on GA 5, when the vehicle crossed the center line and was struck on the passenger side by a a silver 2003 Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound. Brice, of Winston, were both injured and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was injured and taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
