Channel 2 Action News has confirmed a 17-year-old student was killed and four others were injured in a wreck late Tuesday afternoon.

A Locust Grove High School student was killed Tuesday afternoon when the pickup truck he was driving slid off an icy Henry County road and struck a tree, police said.

A Locust Grove High School student was killed as a result of an accident that happened due to inclement weather conditions. Authorities say the incident occurred on Coan Road, just east of Willow Creek Drive in McDonough when a pickup truck, driven by 17-year-old Nash Beever, struck a tree. The white Ford Ranger, which was also occupied by four other people, left the roadway around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Beever was pronounced dead on the scene. According to Henry County Police, a female passenger was transported to Grady in serious condition and three other passengers were transported to regional medical centers.
