Suspect in fatal Georgia crash seen jumping from overpass

Authorities say witnesses saw a driver suspected of causing a fatal crash near Savannah jumping from a high overpass as though he was trying to flee the scene. Sgt. 1st Class Chris Nease of the Georgia State Patrol said witnesses indicated the driver was trying to escape. Witnesses told police the wrong-way driver got out of his car and jumped off the overpass, falling about 30 feet onto train tracks below. WTOC-TV reports one person was killed Monday morning when a car traveling the wrong way on Savannah's Interstate 516 bypass crashed head-on with a minivan. Names of the driver and the person killed were not immediately released.

Second man dies after I-516 crash Monday morning

According to authorities, a second man has died after a wreck on I-516 Monday morning. Georgia State Patrol said Roberts was going the wrong way on I-516, near the Bay Street exit in Garden City. They say he hit another vehicle head-on, killing 77-year-old Jerry Kaiser of Garden City. He then got out of his car and jumped off of the overpass to the train tracks below, about 30 feet.
