A 59-year-old northwest suburban woman has been charged with driving under the influence and other offenses in connection with a Saturday accident on the Tri-State Tollway that sent an Illinois State Trooper to the hospital, officials said.

Leslie Thurow, 61, of Mount Prospect was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
Leslie W. Thurow hit a state trooper during a traffic stop near St. Charles Road. She tried to flee the scene but hit another car and caused it to roll over. In that car was seven family members who all sustained serious injuries and were taken to local hospitals. The family consisted of a 37-year old woman, a 43-year old man, a 3-year old boy, a 73-year old woman, an 83-year old man, an 11-year old girl and a 13-year old boy. Thurow was ordered held on $450,000 bail in bond court Sunday.
