13-year-old boy in critical condition after being struck by hit-and-run driver on Pulaski and Congress in Chicago, Illinois

A 13-year-old boy was in the hospital Tuesday after he was injured in a hit-and-run crash. The accident happened Monday night near Pulaski and Congress in Garfield Park. The 13-year old was crossing the street around 7 p.m. when police say the driver hit the boy, then took off down Pulaski heading south. The boy was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, a Chicago Fire Department Media Affairs spokesman said. Area North detectives are investigating.
