Four people were hospitalized after a domestic dispute turned into a car chase that ended in a crash in Englewood early Friday.
About 12:30 a.m., a 23-year-old woman, later identified as Octavia Hubbard and her boyfriend were involved in a domestic dispute in the 7000 block of South Wolcott Avenue, police said. During the dispute, the woman — along with two other women, ages 18 and 22 — left in a Chevrolet van and headed east on West 69th Street, followed by her boyfriend in another vehicle.
At the stoplight at the intersection of West 69th and South Halsted streets, the 23-year-old drove through a red light, striking a Ford sedan that was traveling south on Halsted, police said.
The woman then hit two more parked cars, police said. She and her two passengers were all ejected from the van. The 23-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in “stable” condition, while her two passengers were both taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with “non-life-threatening” injuries, police said.
The driver of the Ford sedan, a 52-year-old man, was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in “stable” condition, police said.
Charges are pending against the 23-year-old, police said.
